The DIS Group takes Health and Safety very seriously and constantly promotes a culture of good practice and attitude. In 2003 we were highly commended in the Commitment category of the Working Well Together awards, a Construction/HSE initiative.

We have a Group Director responsible for Health & Safety, a Group H & S Manager and H & S Co-ordinators in all Divisions.

Our accident record is excellent but, we are not complacent, regularly reviewing systems and procedures.

Training is paramount: All Engineers and Managers attend a HVCA Managing Safety 2-day course and regular H & S update sessions. Operatives attend the 1-day HVCA Working Safely in M & E course. They also get regular H & S updates through toolbox talks, normally held with the Group Health and Safety Manager.

Site working and visiting staff are required to be CSCS scheme cardholders. In addition, a significant number of our operatives hold IPAF and PASMA cards.
